During this assignment my group didn't really use our pre production planning, we changed the whole story so we had to make up a lot, while we were filming.

I en counted a lot of time management issues while i was editing my film because, i had to make the soundtrack and put the film together in a short amount of time due to our group finishing our filming so late. i didn't really use any method to complete everything.

My group made a EDL but we didnt really follow off it. I made a list of what songs i was going to use for my final edit of my film and this was effective because then i didnt have to go over and over to find the sounds i wanted to use.

Although i didnt do a reflection every week, last term for my assignment. i did do some, and the reflections i did i used a lot of detail to say where im up to and what ive done so far.

The techniques i found i was good at was making up what to do very fast, because my group had come across a lot of changes.

I am not satisfied with my final edit, because i didnt have much time and i know i could have made it a lot better.

I would change some of my music and edit it differently

I would manage my time more affectively and change most of the shots we have and like i said before some of my music.

homework

last term we made a film based on the story boards we did for our previous assignment. i thought that this assignment was very hard to complete because a lot of changes were made during the proccess of our film. eventually i was able to collect everything i needed and make the film, but if i had organised my time more effectivley i could have made the film a lot better then it was. i found it hard to manage my time for this assignment because everything kept changing. if i had the chance to do this assignment again i would have done it very differently.

Reflection

i have completed my prop list, shot list and script. i have to just top up on my reflections. and complete my music for my film. i still have a fair bit to do before next monday when the whole assignment is due. i think i could have managed my time for effectively, but i think ive done alright seeing as we have lost a group member, gained a group member and had to change our whole film a few times.

Locations and Setting

The location of the whole film is based on school campus.

Most of the Setting is in one room which is located right next to the creative media room, but the scenes that weren't in that room were during the dream, when the character Steff runs around the school following her arrows and stop and a tree located in the main courtyard. The other room used in the film is a room which is also near the creative room.

Creative Media Reflection:

This term we have been editing our film for our stories in our previous assignment. Except my group is really behind due to members of our group leaving the school and others joining. My group is still filming our story. Over this term I have decided to leave my group and start editing a random film by myself, once I talked to my other group members, I changed my mind and stayed with the group. I think that now we know exactly what we are doing, we will do well. If I would change anything I would definitely improve our time management.

Reflection/evaluation:

My biggest difficulty throughout the whole assignment was the storyboarding, this is because i found it hard to draw the scenes.
My planning and research helped me write my treatment as i didnt have to start from scratch, i could just use the notes i already had to write my character profiles and locations.
The activities and templates helped me create
• Discuss how the activities and templates helped you to create effective storyboards;
• Describe any problems or difficulties you encountered in this unit or during the writing/design process.
• Describe any skills, techniques or tricks you have discovered during the project;

Discuss your feelings about the pre-production task:
• Are you satisfied with the final result?
• Did you manage your time effectively?
• Are there things you would like to change?
• If you could start again what would you do differently?

Film Genres Worksheet

Genre List some of the common elements used in these genres; consider Mise-en-scene, Cinematography, Sound (Effects and Music) and Narrative Conventions (typical scenarios or characters)

Action Films Action film is a film genre where in the story is largely told through physical action as opposed to dialogue. The action typically involves individual efforts on the part of the hero. While action has long been an element of films, the "Action film" as a genre of its own began to develop in the 1970s. The genre is closely linked with the thriller and adventure film genres.

Comedy Films Comedy film is a genre of film in which the main emphasis is on humour. Also, films in this style typically have a happy ending (the black comedy being an exception). One of the oldest genres in film, some of the very first silent movies were comedies. Comedy, unlike other film genres, puts much more focus on individual stars, with many former stand-up comic transitioning to the film industry due to their popularity. While many comic films are lighthearted stories with no intent other than to amuse, others contain political or social commentary (such as Wag the Dog and Man of the Year).

Drama Films A drama film is a film genre that depends mostly on in-depth development of realistic characters dealing with emotional themes. Dramatic themes such as alcoholism, drug addiction, racial prejudice, religious intolerance, poverty, crime and corruption put the characters in conflict with themselves, others, society and even natural phenomena.

Horror Films Horror films are movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, horror and terror from viewers. Their plots frequently involve themes of death, the supernatural or mental illness. Many horror movies also include a central villain.
Musical Dance Films The musical film is a film genre in which several songs sung by the characters are interwoven into the narrative.

Science Fiction Films Science fiction film is a film genre that uses science fiction: speculative, science-based depictions of phenomena that aren't necessarily accepted by mainstream science, such as extra-terrestrial life forms, alien worlds, esp, and time travel, often along with futuristic elements such as spacecraft, robots, or other technologies.

War (Anti-War) Films War films are a film genre concerned with warfare, usually about naval, air or land battles, sometimes focusing instead on prisoners of war, covert operations, military training or other related subjects.

Westerns The Western is a fiction genre seen in film, television, radio, literature, painting and other visual arts.

Draft

Creative Media, Notting Hill and My Best friends Wedding
Intro:
The romantic comedy genre is popular as it attracts a lot of female audiences. Notting Hill and My Best friends Wedding are good examples of romantic comedy as they are both very humorous and also represent romance in a decent way. The topics that will be talked about are Mise-en-scene, Cinematography and Sound and Editing. These films make use of Mise-en-scene to make the audience feel as if they are there with the characters. The Genre romantic comedy is types of movies with light-hearted, humorous plotlines, centered on romantic ideals such as a true love able to surmount most obstacles. Romantic comedy films are a sub-genre of comedy films as well as of romance films and often have elements of screwball comedies and stoner comedies. Romantic comedy can also be used to describe some television series. Both the films include a man and a woman with some sort of connection to each other and in the end become close friends or partners. Both movies include humor within the romance and also they both include an argument, which leads to the woman and the man to have a separation from each other.

Paragraph one:
The scene that I am doing from the movie Notting Hill, is when they are sitting at dinner and they are talking about who gets the last piece of the brownie. The scene I chose from My Best friends Wedding is when all the important people that are included in the wedding are at lunch, but with the main actresses friend. This scene includes singing and many other things. The differences between the lighting in both scenes is that the Notting Hill scene is shot at night so obviously the lights are on so its very bright and the scene from My Best friends Wedding is shot during the day, so the lighting is normal with no extra lighting. The differences between the sound in both scenes are very different. This is because the scene in Notting Hill is quiet and the scene in My Best friends Wedding is very loud. The scene in Notting Hill is quiet because the characters are at home and they are not having loud discussions. The only time the sound gets loud in this scene is when the characters laugh. The scene from My Best friends Wedding is different because they are at lunch with a lot of people. The scene is in a hall kind of place. The characters in the scene also sing a song very loud. Which makes the scene different from the scene from Notting Hill.

Protagonist and Antagonist

Batman

Star Wars 3

The trailer for Star Wars 3 was more effective and was presented better then the trailer for the first Star Wars because it was modern and the effects of how they set it out was good.
